UKGovOSS aims to provide a supportive, vibrant community and an independent, welcoming environment where those with a shared interest in open source within the public sector can interact together positively.
Before you participate, please take a moment to read these Community Guidelines which are our ’house rules’ for anyone taking part. These set out the basic and general rules of what’s acceptable here and what isn’t. Now is also a good time to refer to our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
If you think that the behaviour of another member is inappropriate, please report it to us.
We ask you to follow and support the simple rules below. If you’re caught violating them, you’ll be banned from our network, immediately and permanently.
1. Be polite and respectful to all other community members, even when they think differently to you (and are clearly in the wrong!). Offensive and unpleasant behaviour towards other members won’t be tolerated here.
2. Use good common sense and act responsibly when posting content and participating in discussions. Please make contributions constructive and relevant, and keep threads in the appropriate forums.
3. Obey the law. It goes without saying - no illegal or unlawful activity.
4. This is an open network which is publicly viewable. Don’t post personal or private information you wouldn’t want others to see.
5. Commercial content: Community members are here to share ideas and exchange information. Advertising, sales pitches and touting for business are strictly prohibited. If you want to promote your business, please contact our marketing team at info@publicsectorforums.co.uk.
6. Nobody enjoys getting spam. Untargeted, unwanted or repetitive content, including comments, private messages and friend requests, are forbidden.
7. Please do not feed trolls! If someone is making a nuisance of themselves, don’t react in the same way. Instead report them to us to deal with - drop us a private message or email info@publicsectorforums.co.uk.
We reserve the right to amend these guidelines. Please let us know if you have any queries or suggestions on how these can be improved.
