How to Send a Private Message to Another Member
To protect members from spam, you can only send a private message to somebody if they’ve approved you as a friend.  You’ll find the button to send a Friendship Request on the member’s profile page.  Once they’ve accepted, you’ll be able to exchange private messages.

What is a ‘Friend’?
A friend on a social networking community isn’t literally the same as a friend in real life. We define it as someone who’s chosen to connect with you.

Lost/Missing Password
Go to the Lost Password page and enter your username or email address.  We’ll send you an email with a link to reset your password.

No Activation Email Received
The activation email is sent immediately.  If it’s not appeared in your inbox, it might have landed in your Spam or Junk Mail email folder by accident.   If there’s not there, try registering again.  If you still have problems, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help you out.

Change Password
Simply log in and click the ‘My Account’ button at the top left of the screen.  You’ll see an option there to change your password.  Make sure you pick something that can’t be easily guessed by others!

‘Cannot load bp-messages.php’ error when sending a private message
This is a bug which occurs if you’re trying to reply to an old message from someone who’s not on your Friends List.  You probably received this message before we introduced the new ‘Friends Only’ private messaging policy.  You’ll find the button to send a Friendship Request on the member’s profile page.  Once they’ve accepted, you’ll be able to exchange private messages once again.

Spam comments on your blog
We hate spam too. We have a number of anti-spam defences in effect on the site.  If you’re getting problems with spam and/or offensive comments, please let us know.  If a spam comment does inadvertently get past the filter,  click ‘Report as Spam’ on your message and the spam filter will learn and adapt in future.
